Camel Facts

Camel is also known as Ship of Desert. They do not store water in their humps! They store fat in their humps. Camels do not chew the food and swallow it instead. They regurgitate and chew the cud later. 

They shed their coat each year. They can live without water for days and even months. A camel can drink about 200 liters of water in a day. Their ears are very small and hairy but their hearing power is very strong.

A female camel  is called a cow, a male one is called a bull and its baby is called a calf. It’s body temperature rises during the day and cools off during the night.
